        Cheeky swine

Line up: 4wheeldrifter, Jamo, Greg_S, Thefibreguy

Interesting conversion Imran has done, not as much light as the extreme but the A6 projectors are clearer better.

Very noticable when Doug_RS2 pulled up that the original HID kits is alot bluer than the extreme kit giving the impression of more light output but when compared on the grass it's not as much.

Just checked the family album and it seems you cant buy the projectors seperatly

So how much are new lights?

That was because I was parked on a slope pointing into the ground. I thought mine were brighter than any of the others there...sorry

Imrans were a lot more focused than the standard cars.

Tried out the v2 HID ballast units on mine today - with a dark wet 5am run to the airport and back home tonight - all for a day trip to sunny Stevenage. Anyhoo - they are noticably better than the v1 HIDs. I can simply see more road, more clearly. I did have them down to the II position as I noticed them perhaps a bit too high.

Oh but I must get round to bypassing the autocheck function.

I'm getting strange things with my autocheck, most days it's fine, then sometimes it keeps beeping!

No idea why some days it works and some days it dont.

It's got to be an earthing issue. Where have you earthed the HIDs to?

Metal stud on the body and point where screw for plastic trim goes.

Think i'm going to single earth them to one point in one connector.

Quick question for you HID guru's.
I know that the brightness of the HID isn't a concern for the MOT as the bulbs are only rated at about 35w. What about the colour of the lights?? will this effect MOT time??
I know that the "K" in the description isn't the heat of the lamps but the colour rating, so the higher you go 4/6/8/12k means they get more purple, so would the really purple looking 12000k be illegal and fail MOT's??

                          Thanks in adavance chaps

Hmmm... That's an interesting one. Tom should know.
The Extreme HID kit is 6kK, so is very white like daylight.

I went through this with Martin before buying my extreme kit. They're 6000k which is white with a slight blueish tint from certain angles, much like the colour that you see on the new Mercs and BMWs now. Any more than that and it gets really blue ie. 8000k and purple at around 10,000-12,000k but 8000k+ is likely to get you pulled frequently. I think 6000k is around the safe limit. Would look very cool though Jas!!
