      Martyn,

Don't get me wrong absolutely cracking piece of kit at a great price. The white wire being a bit short is my own doing - i.e. where I placed the ballasts. I am more than happy to fit my own plug which sorts it all out perfectly.

I never use my fogs anyway (actually, i never seem to use the car these days ) so I'm not going to bother with that - Now if you could get an H1 high beam that you can flash, I might be interested

          HI Glyn,

cheers!! its ok though, I was taking the wee wee but you have brought up a valid point! I shall incorporate this plug in mod very soon to the S2 kits it's a worth while mod to do

Sal, I was joking!!!!! but hey... if you REALLY want it... then I'll make it! they'd be about the same price.. too cheap!

Good point Doug raised though... think I've only ever used the fogs twice in the last year, just not worth doing really, unless you want them!!!

Doug, careful what you wish for.....

I've got two mods to do to the S2 headlight as soon as I get it back out of my garage one is to fit new A4 projectors in the S2 Ellipsoids to put more light on the road. (as a side note. I fitted a set of A3 glass projector lenses which are MUCH clearer than S2 ones to my prohectors, and the difference was.... NOTHING!!)

Anyhow, once the new A4 projector mod is sorted, then.... the next project is already lined up BI-XENON S2 projectors that will give you xenon high beam PLUS the existing H1 high beam bulb! now that should be pretty darn bright on full beam!!!

          Watch this space...

Bi-Xenons with a Xenon high beam would be excellent.
I look forward to hearing more about it once developed - can't wait

I met up with Martynf last night to fit my HID kit. Good news is he's recovering from his health setback and has been given the green light for Oz.

Anyway if you haven't got one of these HID kits yet do yourself a favour & make it your next mod. They look fantastic and totally transform the headlamp performance.

I was most impressed with the quality of service from Vagparts... ordered the H1 HID kit on the Wednesday evening (17th dec)... to be delivered to my parents place in the UK, they were delivered on the friday (19th dec).. and I fitted the kit to my RS2 on the monday with my dad. Very easy, good instructions and a brilliant lighting upgrade. Top Marks.

                    Autocheck bulb warning

Has anybody had any problems with Autocheck since they fitter their HID kit ? My kit was fitted 3 weeks ago and it was fine until last night when the Autocheck bulb warning symbol/chime started

I thought it might have been the LED sidelight bulbs causing it so I put back the original (yellow) bulbs but it still comes on. The symbol then goes out straight away but comes on again a few minutes later with the chime. Any ideas why it was fine for 3 weeks ? I'll be at the garage meet on Saturday if anybody can help

I get a problem with my H4 kit. Whenever I go to dipped from either side lights or main bean beam I get an Autocheck warning and a beep. It bugs me silly, especially on a long night time drive.
I think my problem is caused by the fact that the Autocheck system thinks that the second bulb connector (that is not used anymore) contains a blown bulb.
I want to try and fool it into thinking that there is a bulb in there by sticking some sort of resistor over it.

I'll be there on Saturday too, so we can compare notes.

Thanks David. Any chance we could have a go at that if we get time on Saturday. I guess we'll be meddling in that area anyway with the heated seats ? Do your schematics cover front bulb monitoring ?

My Diagrams are a little basic, all it will show is the ins and outs of the monitor system. I will see how time goes on Saturday, I will look for the corect monitoring relay at home if I have a spare. I will try it and then put a post on the Forum.

I have made a fully relayed high power loom to try and fit. I need the autocheck system to be out of action for that to work. It's only been sitting there for 7 years!

I have the early bonnet/grille and would have to do too much work to swap the headlamps for later units.

I've got the Audi 80 current flow and fault finding binders. They cover the autocheck system along with almost everything else. Do you want me to bring them over on saturday afternoon?
