    Relocating Battery from under Bonnet

i'm in the process of trying to relocate my battery to underneath my rear seat (where it belongs)... essentially i'm looking for pics. of the battery box (so i can get an idea where to cut out the floor and install the new s2 battery box)

any advice from anyone who has done this, would be appreciated.... and any pics. will be extremely helpful

    thanks in advance

btw, i'm in the u.s. and have never seen the battery under the seat

force, please name threads appropriately and post in the correct forum. I have updated both so it is a bit more meaningful now.

Relocating battery from engine compartment to under rear seat

Don't know what the original thread said but I sure would like to see how the battery is mounted as it is on the later model s2's. I have seen on the 20v.org site the parts list for the battery relocation that Chris Miller did on his ersatz s2 conversion.
How about it you guys and girls on the other side of the pond. Show us US and Canadian peoples the battery box area and help make Martyn more money selling conversion parts.
            Thanks, Chris
Almost forgot. How is the battery cable routed thru the vehicle and where does it come thru the firewall? How is the power cable connected to the starter and the alternator?

IIRC It isn't a battery box as such, it's a sink in the chassis where the battery locates with a vent on the right towards the panel trim.

It's late though i i never think straight at night, i'll see if i get any time to remove my rear seat in the coming days.

Hey hey hey... Pics! I'm in the process of doing the same to a B3 Sedan. I was thinking of sticking it in the trunk but I'd much rather have it under the rear seat.

Easy enough 5 mins to lift up the rear seats, so here you go

(Click the pics to see bigger images)

There is a cover that is supposed to go over the battey itself (Part number 895 915 411). There wasn't one on mine when I bought the car, so it must have been removed at some point in the past and forgotten to be refixed in place (probably during a service etc).
