Sounds like a faulty circuit board, or you're getting spikes from your coil / coil packs?

      Does it always do this?
      How rapidly is it pulsing?

My friend had a similar problem a while ago. Turned out one of the weights at the back of the cluster near the coil - had fallen off coursing the needle to shake vigorously as it no longer had any resistance or counterweight.
Dont know if the S2 dials have the same setup though.

      good luck.
