    Another relay question

Is the fault with my intermittent driver's side window likely to be a relay fault or not?

Surely if it was a relay the fault would be evident with all four windows? (rs2

Symptoms are what you'd imagine from a faulty relay ie sometimes it goes all the way up, sometimes it stops, sometimes it just works. All other windows work fine. Getting annoying now and I don't fancy having it fail on me somewhere dodgy or on a long trip.

How about those tiny little 'tin cap' thermal fuses under tha dash?

Just a thought but... if the window works sometimes and stops. If the window is stopping on maximum current drain, then the thermal fuses might be tripping the power out and stopping the window.

It might be worth swapping out the tin can thermal fuses from another members car if you can to test if its them at fault or not?

Just an idea for you to try....

Thanks Martin. Not much chance of me swapping them with another member as I don't know any in Holland where I'm living at the moment. Don't suppose you sell them do you? I could get you to send me them with the VAG COM adaptor I'm buying from you.

Don't think they are under the dash on LHD either unfortunately.
