  • Where does it connect?

    HI,

My ECU does not see that the AC compressor is activated resulting in a struggling idle and random stalling at red lights.

I seem to remember that I've had a connector hanging loose above the kick panel on drivers side for ages that I can't figure out where it goes.
It looks like it could be the T5h connector, that would explain why the ECU won't see the AC running.

So can anyone give me a hint where it should be hooked up?

    See attached photo.

    Found it.

I remembered slightly wrong, it was the "female" connector that I had hanging about.
The T5h was tucked way in to the spaghetti.
    See picture of both.

Put them together and now the ECU sees the AC on signal.
Idle improved immediately, will do some driving to see if it is completely cured.

I don't know why those had been separated...
Maybe something to do with MFTS alarm signal travelling through there annoying a previous owner?

I also found a single connector, not used I guess?

Sorry. I missed your PM to me (I check in here daily but *APPARENTLY* the new system does NOT flag up PMs like the old one, so I missed it).

My answer would have been to direct you to my AAN ECU pin-out post:

Specifically the info on Pins 6/55, 40/55 and 41/55 with references to the A/C connections to the ECU and climate control head (do a Ctrl F search on "A/C")

      http://forums.quattroworld.com/s4s6/msgs/21009.phtml

And my AAN engine harness - passenger side pdf:

Specifically pages 13/17 and 15/17 with references to the A/C connections to the ECU and climate control head

No worries, I appreciate your feeback no less.
        You are helpful as always.
Hopefully this information will help someone else fault searching something similar on here.

I find it quite hard to read and understand the schematics regarding to how they physically connect to something.
If it's just a connector of similar color as in my case or is supposed to end up at some other place like relay, fuse etc.
But then again, i'm no genius when it comes to the electrics

        Thank you!

Hope what I gave you helped because I am not even sure if you have an S2 or an UrS/6. My info was geared to the AAN. Good luck.

Was it the connector with one wire that was not plugged in?

              It was both actually.
But it was the big connector in the first picture (where you also can se the mating connector 'T5h' in the background) that was not hooked up that caused my problems.

Don't know what the one wire connector is supposed to go, if used at all?
