Starter issue

Has anyone experienced a starter only turning over 1/10 attempts? Solenoid fires every time but no further action. Was a cold morning.

Starter was new back in 2011 and not used extensively since, battery new a couple of weeks back. When it does turn it turns over quickly and fires straight away. Feels like a switch somewhere...

Sounds like solenoid not engaging.. take it off and clean things up to start with

Are that battery terminals tight? I've had similar with a cracked terminal and not tightened before

Had exactly the same with a bike recently, loose battery terminal.

Thanks all, I'll give it a check, do have one of the battery terminal quick disconnects on....
