My wiring loom nearly melted itself last week and advice says it maybe bad earth connections, has anyone got a wiring diagram for my sparks man to use or pics of where to look for the main earth points on ABY Coupe'

Can't post a direct link but http://s2central.com/main_frame.html. On the left margin click Technical Data -> then up right Electrical Systems -> Current flow diagrams -> scroll down to bottom of page to S2 / RS2 Wiring Diagrams -> select s2 coupe and go from there. Hope this helps

Not using the car until it is, frightened the life out of me. Last thing I want is the car going up in flames

A runaway meltdown situation is not a nice thing to experience. It was a different car but a con rod popped out through the side of the engine block and as if that wasn't bad enough - it severed the main battery cable to the starter which then shorted out.

The fizzing noise and cloud of acrid white smoke was very alarming.

Did you get a copy of the schematics for tablet?
Good Idea to check all fuse sizes are correct.
