  • VCDS problem

Tried for the first time to connect vagcom today on my 91 3b coupe, without success.
0 voltage on the black terminal with ignition on. The computer finds VCDS but not the car.
Where do i find the other ends of the terminals, so i can check if they are plugged in?

They may have spliced into the loom to fit an obd ii connector, can you see the wiring in the fuse box to the 2x2 connectors?

They are currently under the dash. Used a cable finder and both Black and brown connectors goes to the ecu. After reading schematics i should have constanly 12v on the Black connector?

Connected the VCDS power straight from the battery and it looks like i have connection with the ecu, so the brown connector works. Question now is how do i fix the black connector (power to VCDS)?

          There’s a fuse, can’t remember which though.

Or not! according to this, on the 3B the power comes straight from the 30A bus in the fuse box. Check it’s connected underneath.
