Yes, that contains the switches. Perhaps your other side is dead?

There’s a switch in the lock as well.

In the wiring loom you see plug item 5 plugs into the lock.
The switch in the lock is part no 16A
You can take the door card off and unplug this switch and test it with a buzzer and operating the lock with the key. You should get a pair of contacts which close when the key is turned to the lock position.

This is the actual microswitch, I think this one is a left hand one. There’s no audi part number on it unfortunately.
The centre pin in the plug is the common and the switch is normally open.
When you push the little white lever to the left it closes to one contact, to the right it closes to the other.
He switch is hooked and clips to the top of the lock, I don’t think it can be changed with the lock in situ, I definitely removed the lock to access it.

Never doubted you of course.... snagged from ebay as I was curious as to what they looked like when fitted:

Hmm, I pulled the seal back and squirted in some switch cleaner but it didn’t fix it. Also bearing in mind my car has done over 250,000 miles I went ahead and replaced with my spare which came from a low mileage car.
It’s a two way microswitch with off in the middle basically, it had failed in one direction.
The one in the pics is the passenger side switch I think, I took both spare handles to bits as one was broken in the crash.

The pins on the plug are labelled 1,2,3 with 2 being the middle pin.
Measure ohms (or use a buzzer) from pin 2 to pin 1, with the key try to lock and unlock, you should get continuity (or a buzz) in one direction.
Now meter between pin 2 and pin 3, you should get a buzz in the other direction.
