Unable to remove S2 fog lamp.

This seems like such a rookie question as i've done the on a few occasions in the past.

I'm having real difficulty removing the left hand fog lamp from the front bumper.

The right had side comes out easily enough, just slide it to the outside to move two fog lamp tabs on the inside to create enough clearance from the bumper fog insert insert and gently pull it out. No force required at all.

The left side has always been the less than straight forward to deal with but i've always somehow managed to do it. From memory, I think I always managed to do this just using my hands. Using plastic pry tools and a cloth to prevent any marring just doesn't seem to help. I just can't seem to get the two tabs moved along far enough to release it from the bumper.

I think I must have spent at least an hour on this before I came to the conclusion I could do with some help.

    Any tips please?

Try washing out any dirt, then when it's dry, a little silicon spay.

They can be weird and quite confusing to fiddle out, try pushing it in the opposite direction and or moving up and down a bit.

Thanks chaps, it was certainly a real pain to get it out, I tried every which way to coax it out.

After countless attempts to liberate it I came to the conclusion that it was staying put unless I tried a new approach.

Looking into the fog lamp opening in the bumper I noticed that the side of lamp housing was slightly obstructed by contacting the 13mm bolt for the bumper bracket . There was just enough room for an open ended spanner to loosen the bolt a fraction of a turn at a time. This made it possible to push the bumper back to create the clearance I needed to get it out.

Hopefully this will be of help to others if they come up against the same snag.

Interesting, I'm trying to visualise, was it contacting the threaded end or the hex?

Hi John, sorry for the late reply. It was contacting a pabolt head, with hindsight I should have taken a pic at the time to help explain thing more clearly.
