Afternoon all,
I don't think anyone is keeping an eye on my old post any more (http://www.s2forum.com/forum/showthr...t=20836&page=3) so i'll summarise with... Got myself some cables and vagcom (how did i live without it?) and the ****** gave me this fault.....
Address 01: Engine
Controller: 895 907 404
Component: MOTOR PMC 1
Coding: 0261200484
Shop #: 1267356530
1 Fault Found:
00515 - Camshaft Position (Hall) Sensor (G40)
30-00 - Open or Short to B+
Readiness: N/A
Hall Sensor eh? I'm now going to investigate the connector to the hall sensor (you never know) and see if maybe one of the earths that terminate nearby could be responsible (is this possible? they look solid enough but a tad old, maybe a bit rusty.) So apart from these simple possibilities I reckon i'm looking at a new hall sesnor or maybe even a pin sheared off the flywheel (cheers for pointing this possibility out twoqu). I'm just thinking that there wasn't a spark from the coil when I held a cable to the block. maybe this means it's at the ECU side of things?)
Advice is always welcome.
And i've PM'd Paul N to see if maybe he'll give my ECU a once over in case it's just not speaking to the sensor. Haven't heard back so I assume he's off doing something impressive.
cheers
Nj

) as it's located in the distributor, and not hidden away behind the cambelt.
