    Fitting Ellipsoids to a 3b

Just to clear up the following threads

I purchased a pair of these earlier

From what i've read/been told I can just swap the wire over on the plug on the back of the stalk? If I do this will my wiring be ok, I plan on fitting an extreme HID kit from vagparts but just want to check before I do any damage.

    cheers

Ok is it ok to do this now and fit my hid's tommorow (I would need to use the car tonight and in the morning) as i've heard that without HID's it can overload the wiring?

Ok thanks will pop out in a mo and have a go at this, just hope I don't have the wire in point 8 so its easier just to swap it over, otherwise looks like i'll have to splice it in.

Yeah. Because all cars fitted ellipsoids originally run around with overloaded wiring.

I think you'll be pleased with the difference just changing from reflectors to ellipsoids.

Just wanted to check on the wiring as it was commented in a different thread saying about it.

I had ellipsoids on my 20v quattro sport (before robski stripped it ) and did not know about this mod thats why I want to check now.

Lol , the fat little dog in the picture would only protect its lunch

They was not that expensive new from where I got them from

They are now fitted to the car, and I do need to do the wire mod, as I checked the lights then I checked the back of the stalk and I have both the yellow and brown wire as mentioned in the other threads.

Just a couple of final questions hopefully:

Is it ok just to cut and splice the yellow wire into the brown wire?
Is there a special technique to fitting the headlight adjusters as I removed the blanks and removed the adjusters from the old headlights but since fitting them the lights don't adjust by the switch, I "think" they just ain't slotted in fully, just was raining too hard for me to have a look but will do tommorow when I do the rest to the car.
