replaced dizzy cam gear with bronze gear

Hi there i need help here. I changed the plastic dizzy gear on my s2 with the bronze type with no problems. Ive done the same with my 20 valve coupe quattro and now the car wont fire up,rotor arm tuns but no spark from coil ? all i did was take the dizzy out and then put it back, any ideas out there ?

It has to be lined up perfectly, that may not be to the timing marks BTW. Try swinging it as you try to start it.

Don't get tangled or electrocuted whilst doing it

Check the timing marks really carefully, they have to be spot on, I do this by putting the car in gear and rolling it forward onto the marks.
