    3b..

Same problem here, windows + sunroof dead but on a 3B. Found this thread, thank you Forum

The double size relay (or control unit) had a different p.n. looked like in the pic. Clearly visible was a bad soldering due to heat cycling, or so it looks to me. Repaired with a piece of wire as reinforcement, repaired a few other bad solderings and it's all good again (fingers crossed)

Ok, I ordered the fuse to replace mine, but I'm having an issue, I don't see a 20A one. It's a late ABY Avant. I only see a 32V 60A one in the rough location of where the 20A one is pictured earlier in this thread.

Any ideas? Someone mentioned this previously about a LHD RS32 but I saw no answer other than Paul saying it should be there on all models?

The thermal fuses are the ones you've pictured in your second photo, up to the top right corner of the pic.

Ahh seems I missed a post.

I am not sure if yours (Jas) is a 3B or if it's just that the Avant has a 30A because it has more windows, but I assume the Coupe or 3B doesn't have the two I have pictured?

Mine was (now sold) a 1995 ABY Coupe. Picture of what that spaghetti wiring mess from hell looked like on mine, is on page one of the thread somewhere.

Audi likes to throw these curve balls. Have you tried the relay? checked the tracks on the rear of the PCB for cracked solder joints?

Yup I sure have, all looks lovely in there. The windows work most the time so diagnostics is hard!

I always thought there was supposed to be three thermal fuses, a 12, 20 and 30 (aside from that 32v 60A one)...

Just thought I'd revive this thread,

Jumped in the coupe this morning after it had been stood up for about a month, found out the windows weren't working so used this thread and found 4 dry joints in the window relay circuit. All working now still to just sort the sunroof.
