I will have a look on Monday, I have a day off looking after my daughter. If she stays still long enough I may be able to take a look.

Anyone got the part number of the switch handy?

    Cheers,

Ok, access to the switch seems to be pretty easy. (even with the air box still in)

But shorting the terminals on the connector doesn't turn on my reversing lights...

        Correct me if i'm wrong:
        1. One of the terminals on the connector should have 12v on it.
        2. The other terminal should have continuity back to the reversing light.

        Right?

Can I e-mail them to you?

With reference to this for a 94 Avant - F4 is the switch in question - you should see +12V at the blue/black wire always - then when the switch is closed that makes its way along to the reverse lights.

Fuse 12 is in play here - lots of other things protected by it... Like parts of the instrument cluster and illumination for console switches such as foglights, heated rear window etc

                          Amazing.
Here's the view between my airbox and engine.
I believe that is the switch in the centre of the picture.
