  • Noises from seat heater relays?

What noises do your seat heater relays make? My drivers side one has started clicking a lot when up to temp, it used to just make a buzzing noise occasionally as I think the passenger one still does, is this a relay problem or a seat element problem? Or switch perhaps?

My passenger one does exactly the same John, clicks really quickly once up to temp... seems worse on the more usual 2 or 3 settings..... i've not got around the pulling it out to investigate yet - was planning on swaping them over to see if its the seat / switch or the relay thats to blame... pretty sure its the relay though

            Seat Heater relays making noises....

Believe it or not it does not mean anything bad. The relays are operating at efficient capacity. When you hear them click that means current and continuity is operating normally. Mine have been clicking since the day I purchased my car in late 1990.

Yes, I understand the principle except the pasenger one clicks occasionally, actually more like a scrriitch noise, where as the drivers one clicks all the time once up to temp and it didn't use to do this

my passenger one clicks almost continuously once up to temp, cycling about 4 or 5 times a second and that ain't normal lol.

resurrecting an old *** thread, but my CQ is doing this same thing. Excessive clicking when heated seats on(they work). So is this just relays on their way out? I have had other CQs and they never did this.
                  Thanks
