Thought i'd take the car out last night as the carpet was out along with the interior to see what difference it made to the car (quite significant actually
) and what i thought was a cluth wearing/noisy thrust bearing seems to actually be a wierd electrical noise coming from under the drivers side dash.
Under load it seems to make a loud crackly kind of hum and then off throttle is sounds like a sort of electrical version of a scraping/clutch wear noise. I'm 99% certain its not clutch but absolutely no idea what lives under the dash (maybe on the relay plate/secondary fuse board) which would be sentitive to throttle position and could make this noise. when on low throttle the sounds goes away but floor it and its really noisy!
Any likely candidates? i'm baffled
I did have a quick check that nothing was hanging out the fuse plate - i wonder if there is a poor connection or short somewhere.
Cheers

not while flooring it I hope... could be a rather comprimising position if you get someone to help out as well... "officer, she had her head in my lap while i was pumping on and off the throttle so she could hear my relay"...

didnt you know that Ross

Some of it i'm sure is normal, this particular issue i have is not i'm pretty sure
