Hi Chaps. Will someone please send me a pic of a 3B Cruise control location/Setup under the bonnet. I can't seem to work out where the vacuum ball and linkage sits. The link rod actuator appears to foul the inlet manifold wherever I try to mount it.
I posted some pictures in this thread:http://www.s2forum.com/forum/showthr...147#post299147
But it looks like they're no more available......
I have them somewhere in my computer anyway I'll dig them out for you later....
They're from a RS2 but pump and atuactor are located in the same place.
You need the original bracket for the "ball" otherwise there's no chance you'll put the thing in the right place.
To help you starting understand the bracket (ence the ball/actuator) it's bolt on the two screws underneath the inlet manifold where the two ground wires are already bolt on then the arm goes to the throttle from the bottom trough the manifold space diagonally.....
I'll get the pictures anyway.... far better....
I did think it may go underneath the inlet otherwise it will not get to full throttle.
The kit i bought came with the actuator pictured at the top. However the actuator pictured at the bottom appears like it is more like the propper thing.
the top one is from a 7A - the 7A link rods are mega rare and NLA
AFAIK the actuator sits under the IM on the 3B / ABY / ADU, mounting bolts onto the ground wire points on the IM... I think the bracket and the link rod are different between the 3B / ABY which is why it won't fit quote right (i've got the same problem with the actuator bracket & rod for the 3B IM I have - doesn't fit right making me think its for an ABY)
The link rod I have is straight - dunno which is which betweem though.... where did you get your kit from?
I actually have a new mount and link rod for an ABY here, one of the many jobs on my todo list. From memory the mounting bracket is a different shape to the one pictured above, and the link arm is a straight piece roughly the same length as that one. As above top one is off a 7A.
I had planed to take some pics of the install and update the thread for ABY applications.... will try and dig out the parts and snap a pic of them for you.

Nothing is ever simple. I did a test fit and found everything fits in theory. Problem is the pipework for the crankcase breather sit right where the bottom of the vacume unit should be. It needs to be at least half an inch lower to clear the unit. I wonder if any of the pipes are different on CC equipped cars
Another reason to ditch the PCV system and get a catch tank.
I can't seem to find any pictures at the moment, have been looking through my archieve and I was sure I had some. I can go out and take some new if you like?
I did'nt have any problem on my ADU bracket as you can see it does'nt iterfere with pipes or so.
I reckon the best thing to do it's get the matching holder from the dealer.
I got it for both the Cabrio and the RS2 they don't cost a fortune (couple of ten euros)
The first kit i got for tthe RS2 had the problem that macmandar it's talking about.
Bought the RS2 holder and...... sort it (it does put the membrane higher then the other hoder I had, by the way)

P.S.
My oil breather it's different from the one in Macmandar picture thou.....
