  • problems fitting radio on a suzuki

before we start......its NOT my car, its my stepmothers Suzuki Jimny

fitted loads of radios in my time to all different makes of cars.

fitted a kenwood radio cassette into the car and it works absolutely fine as it should, until the ignition is switched on.
With ignition on the display lights up as it should and it will play a tape, but with no sound
The sound is fine until you turn the key, and then fek all sound.

    Any ideas????? Japanese ***** !

When I had this before, check the 12v wiring to the car, you may have to bi-wire the 12 live to the ignition on the radio input on the harness or the ignition and 12v are reversed and you have to swap them around.

hmm ok, i did run a wire from radio straight to the battery, but still had same problem.

Yeah most radios only work when they see 12v to + input and then 12v in to the ignition input.

If you review the stereos manual it will probably show the same

it was an old radio i had lying about, so do i need to manually wire a wire from positive from ignition to positive on radio?

                LOL!

I think what Jamo said (please correct me if im wrong) was run a 12v feed to both the power input and the ignition feed. So just splice in the the wire and connect to both.

                Now get back to work!
