Ignition starter issue?

Symptom:

Very occasionally, i turn the key first step, all lighting up nicely on the dash, go to step 2 for starting, and nothing happens.

Turn it back and forward again and everything starts right up...

This happened very occasionally and today it didnt want to start at all. I gave it a few tries, tried a different key( no immobiliser on my car), nothing.. Then on one more try, it started nicely again, as if nothing had happened.

Does this sound like ignition starter switch symptoms to you?

there is no play in the key mechanism, but i have already replaced the ignition switch once already.

any input is appreciated!

PS: could this have anything to do with VEMS?

sounds like a ignition switch to me...

Sounds like the ignition switch is on the way out, mine did the same thing and then decided to die doing a drive in movie.
Anyhow my mechanic told me that the ignition switch tend to die if you have it on ignition a lot without starting the car.

that happens a lot when changing settings on VEMS.

i ordered one to have as replacement!
