My S2 has been running a 35watt setup from http://www.hids4u.co.uk/ for 12months now. A6 has had them in since March-ish.
Bought one too many cheap sets from China.
They may be cheap, but don't tend to last long and it's a PITA to change them (tis when you do my work hours)
Highly recommend above supplier. UK based and can be got on the end of the phone. Very quick delivery.
Last thing;
Although I don't need them, it's nice to see detailed installation instructions................not the stupid make-no-sense Chinglish versions.

i've been through two ballasts since ownership. first set came on the car. second set went in a year ago and one side has started getting weaker\dimmer.
quite interested in buying a quailty set too. Got my previous off ebay.Leave a comment:

Word of warning, IIRC I gave Pete Acidburn the link to the ones he bought and have a load of problems with them now
They keep dropping out for no reason, properly earthed etc. I'm going to buy another better quality kit as these are dangerous. You get what you pay for.Leave a comment:

Also, you might want to try and get a set where the ballasts dont need earthing. Makes for a cleaner and easier install.Leave a comment:

can't find where i sourced mine from Rob but i know it was from a UK ebayer and 55w H1. I think the newer 35w slimline/digital ballasts are supposed to be more efficient but dont make any difference to the light output etc. I think mine were either 5000 or 6000luminen so not a chave blue more a true white light. Must bag a set for the fogs next then get some full beams in a decent colour to match. At the moment the HID's on the dips are so bright it makes very little difference if i flick full beam on
Someone (andyp?!?!?) had made a note of how to clean the actual projector lense and really helped to throw a better light out but i forget where i read it.Leave a comment:

Pot Luck on Ebay.... Bought in the UK - Just in case there were any issues...
Pete (Acidburn) has fitted some Chinese ones and seems to be happy with them I also have bought a set of H3's for the Fogs... But haven't fitted them yet..
I would look for slimline Ballasts to make fitting the easier...Leave a comment:
