Just putting in the relays will help with stock bulbs, then you can get the 30% brighter Philips (Hyperwhite?) bulbs which are same power as stock.
Clean all the contacts on the bulb holders and coat with silicon grease.

Can't help but agree John. I have silly plastic lenses in my Mondeo Headlamps which can't take high power bulbs. I have the Xenon gas bulbs and they do help.

Interesting that 70Watts conventional H4 is supposedly illegal & yet HID lamps are advertised as being over 4times brighter than halogen!
          ( and perfectly legal?)

seems a bit like the law that says you cannot use a tyre smaller than the original one fitted & yet cars are sold with these stupid "space saver" wheels!
          Duh!,
          Mad country this!

It's difficult to quantify 'brightness' so they just have a measurable and chose wattage.

If we had aceteylene lamps they would probably say not to use more than 2 lumps of carbide per hour!

Saw these H4 xenon bulbs. The wattage is too high though.

If you fit a relay don't forget to disable the Autocheck light system.

Main thing is you must fit relays if fitting higher wattage bulbs. The stock wiring and switchgear is not up to passing any more current, in fact the stock lights will be improved with relays and a decent size wire direct from the back of the alternator.
100 watt bulbs will melt the steering column switches in short order..

We've got off shore marine kits, race car use only and light commercial aircraft kits coming. These will be base on 50 watt ballasts which will be about 50% brighter than current HID's!! beelinding!! I'm hoping very much that the 50 watt ballasts will provide so much extra grunt that the ellipsoids in our lights will finally put out a decent amount of light down road. Heat will not be a concern at all as still 5 watts less than the current halogen H1 bulbs. I look forward to testing these :-) aircraft landing lights inside my headlamps :-)
Oooooooh, what date are we looking at?
