Alarm removal - sigma m30 help required

    breif history -

car has a starting issue, everything mechnical seems to check out, fuel pump works on the floor with battery, power to fuel pump plug, power to injectors, plugs sparking in sequence..

the wiring on the car is shocking, the alarm like cancer and so the logical thing is to remove it, hoping that the car will start!

theres a series of pictures below taken today, just wondering if anyone sees anything that needs removing, or looks weird etc..

ive spoken to another forum member who has told me that hes pretty sure that all the groups of wires, the same colour (eg. the brown wires in the yellow sleve, the blue/blackin the black sleve, the blues in the green sleve etc etc ) are all facory installed and nothing to do with the alarm.

I did find a thick red wire running through the main loom below the steering column, had a approx 8" section cut out, and 2 black wires from the alarm box, one connected to one half of the red wire and the other to the half of the red wire

Wow thats mental, dash out easiest and best way. Try and trace back anything that looks connected to the alarm etc. That red wire you mention would be what i'd start with to see what happens.

that was done recently, plus it only takes 15 mins to get the dash out! i will however be refitting it with more than the 3 screws it was held in with! the wiring is like car cancer and looks like some monkeys had a go at fixing it at some point with a my first tool kit from fisher price...

I think he means the headunit you are in a prime position to change the dials to the later rs2 etc climate unit. You can still use this without having the aircon pump etc.

A case of keep your cool, trace out, remove and repair.

Get some white insulation tape and a permanent marker.

Good luck but you sound like your on top of it

All those little caps with the multiple wires in are stock. In fact the wiring looks pretty normal

You need to follow the wires from the alarm unit to where they break into the loom. There will be 2 or possibly 3 circuits broken (depends how lazy the alarm fitter was. The red wire you mentioned sounds like its one of them, check that its exactly the same size and colour and there are no others like it and join the 2 ends back together. On my avant there were 3 wires broken into at the back of the ignition switch (2 reds and a black IIRC). I had to add some fresh wire in to reconnect them.

Could you post a pic of the key fob please. My car has a aftermarket alarm fitted, which has the label partially removed, but looks like yours. Alarm works fine, but I could do with a spare fob , so if I was sure of the manufacture that would give me a starting point.

                            Here is mine.
