Hi!
I'm about to change the my car's locks (someone tryed to brake in from passengers side and destroyed the lock) and I found a full set of locks (trunk's too) and ignition switch from a coupe.. Does anyone knows if they would fit to my saloon ?
TBH, change the tumblers and make up a "new" barrel for your passenger door is more rewarding and not more hassle than changing all of the remaining barrels in your car.
Get a loan of a digital micrometer to measure the size/difference in the tumblers and it makes it very straightforward.
Practice on a barrel or two from the breakers, which will also surrender a few spare tumblers to assist in making up the sequence of tumblers for your car's set of original locks?
Many thanks for the ideas and offers..
I think I have kept the barrels from my crashed b3 so if I hope I find some time this weekend to dedicate in it..
If everything goes right I'll post pics..
Incidentally from memory saloon and coupe bootlocks are the same, it's avant that are different.
Door locks are the same although there are 2 different types of handle/lock unit (early and late) but they can be taken apart and used in either case. Ignition is always the same.
