    1991 3b S2 Electric Window Problem

Hi to all, i seem to have an anoying problem with the passenger side electric window which seems to have a mind of its own.

The window goes all the way down but will Not return back up the switches are unresponsive???

Changed window relay still same, stripped motor and looks ok, checked cable all free?? tried a spare motor i have and still the same??

    Anyone come across this before??

S2 Central posted a wiring diagram for these, it does sound like a switch issue to me.

There are two 20amp fuses under the dash. They are metal. I think one of those is your problem. swap them around and see if the issue changes to the drivers side if it does head up the scrapy and you can find them fitted in golfs of that age.

I had a problem with my windows.I did use the s2 central wireing info realy helped.I could see all the switches were doing what they should.I had a look at the motor and where the plastic wheel inside sits on the metal pin it had rusted so makeing it slow to go up some times working then not.Did do my head in a little.I covered it in oil and worked it up and down till i was happy with it. It was a bit of a pain in the b-m but its still working fine.Hope this helps and you get it sorted out. Regards Lynn,S,Guildford.
