Cheers Alex. Guess what i'm doing after work on Monday afternoon at my friends garage. No rear wiper for ages & full speed front wipers are very tiring & the S2 has only been resurrected a day!

                  Is that an airbag wheel?
I think you will need to take off the steering wheel to get the lower cover off

That's airbag/horn cable and is attached to steering wheel.
Be sure to mark steering wheel position when taking it off. Saves a hassle to put it back straight as it was before.

Hope you don't mind but because of the photo issue, now that they are back, I have captured your DIY as a pdf (easy to file and print off ). See attachment.
Nice one given the photobox issues again the pic from the thread had vanished! The pdf was a great prexemptive call, thanks!
