Thanks the pictures made this all the easier. Managed to get it out and on the bench, was a bit crusty generally and the spindles seemed like ther were very dry, which made the whole assembly hard to articulate. The actual motor was a bit waxy grease wise but not as bad as i was expecting. Had a couple of issues reinstalling it back as hadnt remembered to re-align everything properly, so first flick on the stalk sent then south to the scuttle
quick tip if you forget how to align, plug it in, let it do a sweep, then you can undo the nut holding the mechanism to crank arm, then basically realign the crank so it is in the 3 oclock position, then retighten. Might find it easier to take the assmbly out again to do it...Last edited by s2driveruk; 5 November 2018, 21:26.sigpic

Any other areas to check, my motor is cleaned up and seemingly working just fine but the power to work the wipers is just not where i am expecting it to be. Any good ways to confirm the relative health of the motor itself or any compatible newer units, as visually many ‘look’ the same but advice welcome.sigpic

Excellent, its been around 8 yrs now since pulling mine apart, along with the rest of the car still in pieces. I cringe every time I see this thing on the garage floor waiting to be rebuilt, this sticky will make things easier.ABY S2 stroker (work in progress)
