What's the switch on back of cluster for?

Just change temp gauge on 90 clusters
@ the back there is a sliding switch marked 1-6 and days diesel benzin above it
Of course I played with the switch without checking what number it was on!
Which number for a 7a it does it make no difference?
    Ta

Depends which switches you are talking about. I know the C4 UrS4s had two sets, one for the country/language and fuel type (petrol or diesel) and on set for the adjustment of the trip computer fuel computer.

Does that mean we can adjust mpg ratio using the dash? So when we fit larger injectors we can adjust it and correct it or is it not a potentiometer

Sure. If you have a diesel in the US of A.

From the link I provided above that you apparently missed:

          Switch.......Country/Fuel
          Position

          ...1......German speaking countries/gasoline
          ...2......USA/gasoline
          ...3......All other countries including Canada/gasoline
          ...4......German speaking countries/diesel
...5......USA/diesel (Which is funny since no US C4 diesels)
          ...6......All other countries including Canada/diesels

Yup you can adjust the mpg reading +/- 15% using the jumpers, probably not much use for your engine though mate

Looking at that diagram does that not mean if you switched all to on you'd get a collective percentage gain of 3x 5, 3x 10, 3x 15 making +/-90%?

No. Each is a representation of where the three switches need to be to affect a certain (5, 10, 15) percent change. It isn't a multiplicative thing. +/- 15% max.

JP, On UrS6 AIFAK you dont have the dip switches anymore but you have to calibrate that via Vag-Com. I'm not sure if the +/-15% limit still applies or is it bigger.
