    Battery positive feed route

I'm planning to relocate my battery into the boot somewhere and already have an Avant battery cable which should be plenty long enough to route from the boot to the engine compartment, where I'll splice it into the original 3B battery wiring. The cable is pretty thick with its insulation, so I wondered where the route is on the later cars from the battery compartment under the rear seat to the engine bay? I can't see anywhere obvious down by the inner sill where a cable this thick would sit under the trim

I didn't pull the cable out of the donor car so I don't know where its routed. Do they run internally or externally?

    Thanks

internal. Down drivers side, up to below fuse board for the fuse board feed, then the starter feed goes through a grommet in bulkhead to starter.

Cheers I recon it will be a tight fit under the sill trim.

Im not sure about positioning but i would advise putting a battery cutout switch somewhere while your doing it for added security and for ease of resetting the ECU if you have faults.

Great idea. I've seen them with a key that can be removed to completely isolate the positive feed and ensure the car can't be nicked

It goes in the covered plastic tray on the floor, not under the side trim. I joined mine to the starter wire just alongside the airbox, used a piece of copper pipe and did a splice then soldered it and sleeved over.

Have you cut your hole in the floor yet? That's quite scary

Where's the covered plastic tray, under the carpet? I can't see anywhere other than the door trim that runs along the inner sill. I'm not adding a box under the rear seat like the ABY. I'm planning on mounting an Avant battery tray in the boot somewhere. I like the idea of using the space under the rear seat area run a side exit exhaust through.

Do you want a car to have a look at? Mine's sans-carpet at the mo, so you'll be able to have a good dig around.

If you are moving the battery tray I would also fit one of the covered postive battery terminals in the engine bay so if you every need to jump start you can get straight to the connection rather than fumbling in the boot

Yes, I think I will splice into the existing wiring where the battery used to be and add a covered terminal to connect to when required
