    Batery discharge Electrical failure HELP!

Turns out i have yet another gremlin...
I parked my B4 S2 on Saturday and on Monday morning the car wouldn't unlock with the remote, so i unlocked it with the key and proceeded to try to start the car.... None of the dash lights came one, so i pulled out the jumper cables and hooked everything up, the car still wouldn't start. The reason being the battery had 0 charge... After waiting around 15 minutes with the jumper cables connected the car finally started, So i went straight over to a Shop and purchased a 95AMP Bosch Battery. Thinking it had to be the battery because it was already 3 years old....

I bought the battery, did what i had to do around town and went home. Today when i went to get the car to go class the same thing happened! Meaning its not the battery... The cars electrical system is 100% stock.

Has this happened to anyone before??
I really need help, this is my daily driver and only car at the moment and i'm not about to let some inexperienced Brazilian electrician have a go at finding the issue...

Perhaps a weak alternator? I can't really comment any further as my ownership is quite recent... Hope someone else can get to helping you soon!

I've read some people have had problems with aftermarket alarms drawing out a lot of battery power, has yours always been the standard audi one? Any recent changes like a new radio? Just so the others can help you out a bit better with some more info

Maybe a bad earth?? You started working around the cars wiring for anything loose that could cause it?? Maybe a relay is drawing the current out. Urs4boy will no doubt have some ideas and reading for you to do

The car's electrical system has always been stock, the only thing i have done to it after buying it was fit the standard Audi Gamma Stereo because the previous owner had a Flip up DVD player fitted, when i picked the car up he had taken it out and gave me the standard player.... The Speakers are all stock and working nicely with the exception of the right rear that is blown.
The radio could be the source of the problem but iv had it fitted for over 4 months and just now this problem has started.
I also have the AirBag light on, i don't know why its on but my brother had a 99 Audi A3 1.8T that the air bag light came on and it turned out to be a oxidized contact under the drivers seat that was linked to the AirBag sensor...

I think I might have sorted it... I tested the current draw from the battery with the meter set at 20AMPS with everything off and the key out of the car.
The current draw from the battery was 5.20mA.... witch explained why it was going flat within a couple of hours. I thought it was because the boot light was on, So i pushed the trunk latch in to its closed/locked position thinking it would turn the light off. But it did not, So i disconnected the Boot light and tested it again.
Now the current draw is 0.05mA, Its allot better than before but i still have something drawing current. The next step is to remove the Radio and retest...

Thanks alot for that Thread you posted rynaqui it helped alot!

check your central locking pump.Disconnect it.

Seems like you found it if the boot light was staying on If you're down to 0.05A you're probably ok. The thing to do is sit in the car with the ammeter in line with the battery, close the door and lock it with the button, watch the current draw for a couple of minutes till you hear a click and the current drops. This is as low as it goes and is just the draw from the clock etc.

Mine has been running flat <24h since i had the alarm fitted a few weeks ago... need to check it out tomorrow.

How do i test current being drawn from the battery, just put a multimeter between the +ve and -ve?

Set the meter to 20mA disconnect the positive from the battery,Place one cable of the meter on the positive pole of the battery and the other on the cable.
