    Help no brake lights!

I've lost my brake lights and I urgently need sort an MOT next week. I have checked the rear connectors and there doesn't appear to be any power getting to the connectors on each light cluster for the brake bulbs. I've cleaned up the connectors and I do have indicators, rear lights inc fog and reversing lights.

Has anyone any idea where the power is sourced for the brake lights and how the brake light switch triggers the lights? I have checked the fuse in position 3 on the main fuse box and it's ok

I'm not great with vehicle electrics so any ideas/suggestions appreciated

    Cheers
    Steve

pull the connection off the brake switch on pedal. bridge wires and see if brake lights come on permanently. if so your switch is bust

Top Shout! Wiring is intact and the switch is dodgy. I'll replace it tomorrow and hopefully she'll be ready for the MOT

I pulled the switch apart and cleaned the contacts. All working as expected now, roll on the mot. The rear numberplate light has now decided to play up!

Probably just dirty contacts too, treat with care though as they can fall apart, the plastic goes brittle.
