I did and I will be sure to delete them all

I had to take my own car apart to see how Jon did it a few years back as all the pics in his thread are gone

I will stick them up on the end of his thread in a couple of days

Even if both tabs are broken, the pink lock piece will keep the terminals from sliding out.
Exactly, this is what I meant by disassembling the connector before trying to remove the pins.

Works exactly the same on the newer ECU connectors (EDC, ME7) as well. If it's pink chances are you need to slide it or remove it to get anything out

Steve E., our Motronic guru on this side of the pond, has commented on my ECU pin removal post:

"The pink locking piece MUST be slid into the open position, or the terminals won't come out no matter what tool you use to release the locking tab. There are two tabs on all the terminals that I have used, but only one locks into the the connector housing, so if you damage or break off a tab, you can reinsert it 180 degrees from where it was originally in the housing and it will lock again. Even if both tabs are broken, the pink lock piece will keep the terminals from sliding out.

IF you do mess with the connector, and I don't recommend it unless you absolutely have to, know that almost no force is required to pull the terminals from the housing. If you are pulling hard, either the pink lock piece is not in the right position or you have not released the tab. There is no reason for the connector to look like the damaged one in the picture. "

I am adding that to my post.

@ Error, I've got a very similar set to you in work, they seem to work very well for me.

Those Durite depinning tools are ****. I got fed up with the set i had and got work to sponsor me with a set of Laser VAG depinning tools.

Push the pin into the housing then depress the tab to release it. The right tool makes it loads easier
