    Heated seat fuse location?

I just spent the last hour hunting for the seat heating fuse. I have a LHD 3B, old type, with relays not on the swiches.
I believe I am looking for 1 x 30A fuse, should be in the aux relay panel above the drivers feet.. there is no sign.... both heated seats stopped working at the same time...
Can anyone confirm exactly what I'm looking for? Is it a normal fuse, I think perhaps it's a thermal fuse? (The only themal fuse I can find above the pedals is 20A)
Really doing my head in this.... anyone proivide any guidance?

Yes it is a normal fuse in the main fuse board Chris, should be along the horizontal row at the bottom

fuse #25 in the main fuse panel.

edit: #25 is for the lambda sensor heater.

S3 is the 30A fuse (green) for the drivers seat switch and regulator.

S12 is the 15A fuse (blue) for the passengers seat switch and regulator.

Both S3 and S12 can be found in the main fuse/relay panel too.

        That's not correct.

Fuse 3 is for both heated seats. Look at the wiring diagrams very carefully.

Fuse 12 is a generic 12v fuse and purely serves the 12v supply to the heated seats circuit along with several others in the car. The switch / regulators for both seats are powered via fuse 3

My apologies, I just quickly skimmed the diagrams to glean the info I posted.
          Sorry about that.

Hmmm, looks like a left hooker with climate control may have fuses in different locations.

S3 is not apparently for the seats...

Fusebox cover suggests S25 "sitzheizung", but this is not in the main fuse box as they only go up to 21... 22 onwards are elsewhere...

Only fuse I can locate above the pedals is a 20A thermo one...

Now I am lost..... anyone any suggestions?

Since it's an option and the extra fuse is just clipped into the horizontal row it *could* be one of the others in that row. I fitted mine myself and it was a right PITA to get the fuse holder up there from down below..

That's a good point John, but there are only 3 fuses in the bottow row (plus the moteur fuses ofcourse), all are 10A and are not blown..

I wonder if it is underneath somewhere, I just cannot seem to find it...

Maybe its come unclipped and is just sitting where I can't get to it...

Well the loom is separate so try following it back from the dash switches (or the relays), the power feed has to come from one of the lives on the main fuse box anyway.

So the 3B fuse box is different than the RS2 fuse box which says seat heating and horn = 30 Amp in No. 3?

yup, I think the fuse board is not only arranged differently, but is physically different in the 3B

Dave, if you've got a LHD CQ fuse box diag that might help.

I don't have anything that is complete. Only a partial. See attached.

                            I also found this: http://12v.org/urs/AudiS23BMotronicWiringSchmatics.pdf

                              This is interesting.
Dave, your pictogram of the fuse locations show that position 25 is on the front, a little to the left of the moteur fuses...
I have 3 fuses in the locations exactly next to them, all are 10A and all are definately not blown...
I will have to do some tracing tomorrow...
                              Thanks for the help guys
