Light weight geared starter motor for the 5 cylinder
The original starter is 1.1 KW, the replacement is 2 KW. That would give it the extra torque to crank the engine faster. But is also means more current draw?
If at first you don't succeed, destroy all evidence that you tried.

Thats a good question.
One i asked my self. Its to do with the gearing. It will draw less to start no mater the size of the motor. These are made for race cars with small batteries to do one of grid starts.
Depends of the operating voltage during cranking events.. It'll find it's equilibrium. Curves are supplied in the PDF Chef posted earlier.
Assume voltage dropping to 9 volts =>200A =>5Nm meaning around 1800rpm starting speed resulting in around 1kW starting power, making it around 55% efficient according to their graph
One note regarding the Brise starter motors. They are quite noisy. I fitted one to a 1600 crossflow engined Anglia a while back. It sounds good but when you're starting the car in the middle of Tesco's car park people will look in your direction......
Im very intrested to but would want the outside mecherment wide/diameter
Had put a adu/aan in my escort Cosworth and full Nissan gtr drivetrain and its really tight between starter and front diff!
