Light weight geared starter motor for the 5 cylinder

Would any one be interested in a geared starter for there 5 cylinder?

I dont expect much interest from people that use them as road cars but for competition use they are a excellent option.

You will be able to use a smaller racing battery and the starter its self will save you around 3 or 4 kg's

Cranking speed will also be twice of the OEM one and the current draw will be alot less.

I suspect ball park will be around £300

I have seen these starters & alternators advertised in classic car mags, less demand on old electrical systems - might also be worth a try, for cost comparison etc?

i recon the extra crank speed might help you to start your motor on those cams mate.

I'll send Evert the link now. Yeah it might have helped thats for sure but the 2nd battery i have now seems to stop any voltage drop

Ray i did think about you after your comment on shedding weight and cost.
Whats the cars corner weights now?

Alternators are indeed available i'll ask the question

I think its near impossible to get these under 1100kg with out spending a shed load of cash the motor is just far to heavy
