    Very valid point.

One of my old friends worked for sainsbury's at the buntingford depot as a lorry engineer. Twice he made the mistake of dropping a spanner across the terminals on a battery and twice they blew up in his face, he was very lucky that people was around to drag him into the showers they kept for emergancy's like this and they managed to stop it being much worse.

He's a liability when it comes to anything like this, i've seen some very dangerous stuff he's done before.

I've seen quite a few spanners with marks like welding one's when people have dropped them on batterys.

Even just having batteries on charge, you have to be very mindful in how you disconnect a charged battery.

        Goodluck!
after waiting for what seems ages for new switch,i decided to take the whole thing apart.to make everything save by taking one of the terminal off only to find the ground cable indeed had come off the chassis
so car don't really need a new switch after all.

Oh dear. I would have thought checking the battery cables would be one of the obvious things to do. My bad , I should have linked you to my "Potential reasons why your AAN-powered UrS won't start" post (applies equally well to the ABY and ADU). i was going to order a oem switch because i was told that the one on fleabay were cheap copy and will not last past 6 month.but because of xmas holiday, i decided to get one anyway so i could atleast get the car back up and running again until i get my hands on a oem one.
i plug in the new fleabay switch and decided it was time to test it, so connected the battery and the car started turning over without even inserting the key
                    what a load of c***p

I'm not perfect, but this was mentioned in post # 10.

Sorry but I stand by what I said. If you can't do the most basic test (battery cables) as the first test you do before you come here for help and then you ignore the advice to do so (Post 10) and then it takes until post 48 until you get it figured out (the battery cables), then you are, in MY opinion, a time waster.

Hopefully, we all learned something that we can carry into the New Year.

                              I know I did.
