so i hate to be the guy whos first post on a new forum is a quest for help but alas here i am.
(canadian audi 90 cs quattro 1993)
I have search for something directly relating to my problem but i could not find my exact situation. So heres where i am at. When i put the key in any door it unlocks all doors and pump runs fine but when i turn it to lock nothing happens and all that can be heard from the pump(best way to describe) is a valve opens and relieves the vacuum. to be clear the pump does not run when in the lock position.
When i phoned audi refering to the pump number they come up with an H prefix but the pump i pulled out is an A, what bothers me about that is he also told me that the car is to old to input the vin so he went directly by what i told him the car was. and what options it has. btw it only has central locking, no security or IR remote. Not sure if either of these apply but there is an after market deck, and the drivers door button( switch when open) was broken but is now replaced as i like having courtesy lights. Any direction where to lean or ways i can test would be great. Oh i forgot but i also tried jumpering terminals on the 12 pin connector to the lock position and it does the same thing as if i had the key in the lock position.....
In advance thank you for any help
Steven
