    RS2 towbar electrics

I've installed a towbar on my RS2. But i have zero electronics to go with it. What I would love is a pluyg and play solution to plug into the OEM wireharness in the back of the RS2 loom. Instead of splicing it in the wireloom.

Would it be possible to order such a loom directly from audi?
Or is there anyone who made these themselves?

    Cheers!

I found those to, but ideally I would order a plug and play solution like OEM.

Can you post some pictures of the towbar and installation?

I have the loom which comes with the Westfalia towbar, but it really is a generic loom which needs to be spliced into the existing loom, also the colours do not match those of the factory loom. There is a loom available from Audi for retrofit but I suspect this would still need to be spliced. Cars with the factory fitted tow bar have a different rear loom, you could change the whole lot, but there has to be a limit!

Personally, I plan to make my own loom, I would like to make it removable. I think it will take some work to do it neatly.

I have a couple of pictures of my RS2 Westfalia towbar if you'd like me to post them, it is not on the car.

I know it doesnt really help but i believe RS2's with factory tow bars had a function that when you connected the electrics it down rated the engine to 230bhp??? i think it used the altitude sensor????

That is correct also. I'm not sure how much of a consideration it needs to be. Another issue is autocheck as a plug and play loom would have to be different for a car with and without it.

I bought a plug and play solution from Jeager automotive. Supposably it's plug and play with oem plugs.
We'll see when it comes through the mail...

If it dosen't then you can connect to the rear lights. The bulb holders have extra terminals. No cutting or splicing needs to happen. Just female spade terminals.

What GT500 said….I did this on my S6 avant. Just use some off the shelf spade connectors and just attach them to the terminals on the bottom of the bulb holder for the rear lights.

How does that work with the auto-check?

I am also curious about this.

If you simply plug onto the lights, doesn't it screw up the auto-check?

I changed the trailer to LED bulbs, they use so little current the autocheck doesn't notice
