Just wanted to check, when fitting ellipsoids to a 3B is there any wiring modding required, I read that when you have full beam on the dipped lights switch off, is this a problem... or am I ok leaving it as is?
Julian, there is a wiring mod usually needed for the elipsoids to be used on a 3b.
i did it a few weeks ago, i dont know how yours will have worked if it wasnt done.
Anyway here is a pic of the multiplug off the back of the light stalk.
You need to remove the yellow wire at the top (position 7) and put it where the green arrow is (position 8).
If you start to prise the 2 parts of the plug apart is should just pop out, dont seperate them fully or all the wires will come out causing big problems if you dont know where they all were.
Thought it would be just wanted to be sure before I went ahead. Cheers Nuvo and Andy, I will swap the pin over tomorrow morning.
Ellipsoids are 10 times better than the reflectors!!
Thought I'd better get round to doing the pin swap on my S2, I'm sure when I did the swap on my 10 valve Coupe there wasn't the large yellow/green earth in position 1. It doesn't seem to be there on lagz33's car either.
