Pic request - ABY ECU mounting

Can anyone help me out with some pictures of how the ABY ECU & ECU holder mount up inn the car? Specifically on an AC car, if they are different?

On my old 7A there was a plastic mounting for the ECU that screwed to the back of the heater box, but I can't see how the metal ECU holder for the ABY ECU I have here fits or whether I am missing another part.

Can anyone help?

I used the original plastic retainer that was on the rear of the S2 air con section

Ah, I don't have that bit, maybe that's why I'm struggling to work it out!

In vagcat there seems to be different parts listed for lhd, rhd and lhd aircon for each ecu bracket, and an intermediate air con plate for some.

ABY is number 4



7A is number 3

Yes I have a metal plate that looks like #12 in the first diagram, but by the looks that attaches to another part that then attached to the heater box. I need to have another look at the back of the AC heater box as I can't remember seeing any mounting points for it!

If anyone has any pics and / or #5 in the first diagram that would be really appreciated

Just been rebuilding my non-aircon box with all new foam on the flaps, here's a pic of the plastic holder. On the S2 the ECU has a plate bolted on which fits into the plastic piece, it's an absolte pig to get out once it's clipped in. Mine is just shoved up there and held in place by the carpet and the dash trim. I realise that would not work for you Alex

I have an AC holder if you need one. Also got a complete unit and glovebox etc.
