    Electric window issue

This is a weird one that's got me scratching my head and giving me sleepless nights over
Last weekend I parked my A3 up on Saturday night and when I came to go out in it around lunch time Sunday saw the passenger window was fully down
Damn I thought Id been screwed out of my new head unit complete with sat nav in the glove etc ! No everything was still there and the factory alarm working with the doors locked ! Relief ! And I thought lucky ******

However today I was sitting outside my works with the ign off and after about 10 mins the same window started to go down then up ! Trying to override it with the switch from my side had little or no effect.

Not sure what I should be looking at here ? Alarm or contacts for the actual electrical switch on the pass door ?

Paranoid is not the word !!

    Help ?
For what this cost me so far I could have bought an S2

My sunroof has had a mind of its own on a couple of occasions. Once I saw it do it as I walked away from a locked car, another time I got up the next morning to find it was fully open. It had not rained luckily. Never done it since, I put it down to a strange gremlin in the switch but could be all manner of things I guess.

Take the door card off and check the wiring that sits near the bottom, inside of the door. Where there is a raised lip of metal work on the inside skin of the door, this can rub on the electrics shroting the circuit out. Due to it being the passenger window im afraid it could be either door as they both control the window from the switches on either door.

Sounds to me like your CCM is after getting damp, it will cause all manner strange things happen electrics. I think on the A3 it's under the passenger front carpet.

Any problems with water sitting in the front footwells?

No,no dampness in the footwells. I have a coupe for this feature
I will take off the pass side door card over the weekend and see if any things amis.
Not sure if it's related but I did have my pre-select sunroof open by itself when I first had the car but it's not done it since.

            Thanks for the info everyone

Ccm is under steering column. Plug it into vcds. My guress is micro switches in door lock modules giving duff readings causing it to think auto close is being activated.try wd40 in locks and operate manually

My RS4 tailgate started unlocking itself, it was corrosion in the microswitches.
