    Nice work!

Is it necessary to remove the steering wheel in order to remove the dash?

    rgds!

I have just refurbished my little brothers S2 MTM from 1991, it had the same problem with peeling dials, so i changed the white diasl with some from a 1994 speedo, the only problem now is, that sometime the original speedometers km, trip counter, sometimes doesnt work, it is not the little plastik wheel, that turns them, that are the problem, but I guess that it must be a dodgy wire of some sort??
                Kind regards

LEDs work a treat for the ambient temperature display. I followed Paul's advice on www.s2central.net and roughed up the LED before soldering into place so it diffuses the light. Yup you need tweezers and about 4 arms.....and if you are my age some specs

Also looks like I have the wrong wattage bulb in either the fuel gauge or the engine temp readout they look slightly different brightness One day it will be right

Re the fuel and temp gauges, it could just be the age of the bulbs, in the coupe I ended up buying all new ones from halfrauds, the 1.1w ones I think and they all look the same now.

Will maybe have another look at some point but seems disturbing these old clocks too much ain't good as I had them in n out loads of times with different bulbs and connections playing up. Think I'll leave it alone for a while and squint

Actually no, I always do it with steering wheel on.

Great job by the way Rikki.

                              Cheers,

Mine needed setting up anyway so I had to take it off, but less work to do if it can be left on for sure, anyone know what the temp readout is supposed to read mine was on 27 Deg C last night and it was freezing outside so think I might have fried it when I soldered the bulb in
