    Central locking blows fuse?

I have a fault with my central locking system that's proving hard to trace. Fuse 19 blows as soon as the drivers door is unlocked, if one replaces the fuse it blows again straight away while being fitted unless the drivers door is locked. If the drivers door is locked it doesn't blow but the central locking still doesn't work from the passenger door, which it use to.

The fault has been present for some time and I thought I'd be able to get to the bottom of it whilst changing the door cards etc last weekend, had a good look at the wiring checking for damage to insulation, all good. I don't have an alarm fitted and I did a tidy job of repairing the loom of it's various bodge's years ago and the locking was fine till recently.

I'm thinking a wire must be earthing in the drivers door or the shut but can't see anything.

Any suggestions welcome, I'm not that hot at electrics and I have a really bad head cold that's probably lowering my IQ by about 50 points so I'm struggling a little.

    I'm 100% sure it's something simple.

I know the feeling about the cold. I got one in Paris about 2 weeks ago and can only function nose-wise with drugs that are "non-drowsy" (yeh, right). NOT.

Anyway. See the S2Central.net link below. Go to page 3/5 of the pdf and you will see S19 connected to the F59 and F114 central locking door switches. I suspect that you have a broken red/black stripe wire in the rubber door wiring gaiter that is dead shorting. Pull the gaiter out of the body and the door and look for the break and then fix it.

    (Hope it works)

You were pretty much bang on, the green/browny red wire was earthing, it had rubbed through on the window mech due to some ham fisted alarm instal work that I hadn't spotted before. All working perfectly again now, though I've got an hour or so's fiddly work with solder and heat shrink to rectifiy the wiring as well routing the door loom properly so it doesn't happen again.

And yeah colds really suck, makes thinking logically even harder work than normal, hope yours clears up sooner rather than later!

Hey ho at least I've got a spare CL pump on the way from eBay which I got for penunts due a promtional voucher I needed to use up.
