    retumbling ignition barrel?

I'm going to need either a full lock set or to get a new ignition barrel retumbled. There are a couple of old threads where this has been mentioned but I thought I'd ask if anyone has done it recently?

    cheers

I'd go for a new matching lock set mate, it's nice to have everything on one key, it certainly needs a complete new ignition barrel/steering lock mech, the current one feels shagged

It's such a shame the front door locks were not sent back to me from the buyer of my 90 20v front doors ( i tried but couldn't get a rely typical ) as i would be able to provide you with a whole lock set that was in perfect unworn condition. How could that be possible, because it had VAG infa red remote fitted from new!

Ignition barrel and key i have are in perfect unworn condition from a very low mileage 90 20v if interested. But yes i agree with Kit best to have all locks on one key.

I am so annoyed what happened,as a better lock set would be impossible to find full stop!. If Noel Is interested then he will be getting a perfect Ignition lock and key guaranteed!

Is that the tailgate I've got here? If so I'd be happy to donate the lock

Kit, stupid question but is it possible to just change the part of the ignition barrel with the spring function? From memory it's a white plastic bit but I can't remember if it detaches. I'd feel daft changing all the locks if I could have just changed that bit

It's possible to just change the plastic switch in the back of the assembly, but it's not the switch at fault, the steering lock itself feels odd as does the key throughout it's range.

The ignition key is different to the door locks, one of which is very tricky to turn and there's no key for the boot at all, either that or the lock is jammed so a full set is a worthy investment.
