Unfortunately No. I had my avant headliner redone and I wasn't happy with the result for a few reasons. I haven't had the heart to put it back together and move on to the installation of the RightClick kit that I bought.

The issue that I have to resolve with the RightClick kit is whether I can use diodes to retain the feature that if I hold the key in the door lock in the lock position, it will close all open windows and the sunroof (the sunroof is one of the headliner-related issues). RightClick wants me to cut that wire for its installation.

I am busy prepping for a visit from my sister for about a week. Once she is gone, I might get back to the avant.

The unit in above link says it has power window output, that got me thinking. On my A100 I had aftermarket alarm fitted, and windows closed as soon as I lock the doors, I didn't have to hold it or anything. Maybe same thing would happen to this, rather than hold to close?

Thanks Janis. I think that is the same model I bought so I will have to read through the instructions again. I know that there is a jumper that you have to set so the "hold" is either 0.5 sec or 3.5 sec. perhaps if I use the 3.5 sec setting the issue I am concerned about will simply go away.

Forgive me if i am wrong, but can't you just install a better speck Audi central locking pump and have it calibrated using vagcom? Not that i have done it but i want to on the URS6 saloon as it's like yours Dave, Audi were pleading poverty the day it was built even though it was a £40,000 car 20 years ago.

Nope. My avant is a 94 with the single pump outlet, non-VagCom programable. It is only the later central locking pumps with the dual pump outlets that are programable, i.e. 97 C4 and maybe late 96 C4.

Sorry to hear that Dave. Do you have a link/thread on here where it has been done on a 96 S6?

I found this unit to compliment HAWK HA-008 but I assume that is for vehicles without auto close?

3.5 sec isn't enough to close windows is it?

The central locking control module I have is already equipped with a built-in window/sunroof close sub-module so I don't want to add something onto the RightClick, I just want both the key to close the windows and sunroof (as needed) and the RightClick to lock the doors.

3.5 seconds isn't enough to close the windows and doors but it might be enough to trigger the control module to close them, as needed. I need to experiment with that one.

And the experimental results are in:

With a window (or whatever) open, you have to hold the key in the door lock in the lock position until everything you want closed, is closed. If you let of the key at any point, the windows or sunroof stop closing.

                    Back to the diode theory.

If that's the case. I am quite certain it will be when door are locked all the windows close without holding it down.

Also just remembered my red UrS4 had alarm of some sort fitted and some cables were cut at the windows relay, which I assume is because windows would close as soon as doors are locked.

IMHO it's a better option, but there is no way to leave them open if needed. Only option would be some kind of switch I guess between relay and vacuum pump.

None from my end. I had to stop playing with it to go on holidays to France. As it stands, I have successfully installed a RightClick radio frequency remote with alarm features. I have not (yet) connected up the indicators or factory horn to notify me that I have locked (or unlocked) the car. Doesn't matter much, I can hear it lock. So far I have not hooked up the 20 second window and sunroof close feature but the factory hold-the-key-in-the-lock closure feature is still operating so that is fine with me.

The only down side I have found that if I lock the car and arm the alarm with the remote, opening the door with the key in the door does NOT disarm the alarm. The 110 dB alarm horn that I added (in the factory location in the left fender) will go off when I open the door. At least I know it works.

I will likely work on the other features later in the year or in the spring. For now I am happy to have a remote and an alarm.

PS: Not sure if I mentioned it but I did get the key cut on the switch blade remote. Works fine in the ignition. (And door too)
