    Battery condirtioners

Anyone know about these, went to use the car for the first time in a while and my new Bosch was struggling a bit. As I don't use the car all week thought it might be a good idea to have this plugged in

I have one of these plugged into mine when I leave it:-

Mine does not have an alarm so the current drain is minimal, but even after a few weeks it always starts quickly

That's an interesting little device, do you just leave it on the dash wired up

There quite good bits of kit to have, otherwise you'll need to give it a charge/boost every few weeks over winter

As long as your cig lighter socket is live when the engine is off then just plug it in there.

Sure it is, makes life bit easier than running power outside the front of the house

I like my CTEK battery charger/conditioner. New technology.

Buy right, buy once. Don't cheap out as it will last you for years, and be a pleasure to use each time !

Same here, I've been using a CTEK for 3 years now with no issues. Quality piece of kit.

One of my colleagues bought a dozen or so of these for exactly the same purpose for our stock motorhomes, whilst on display.
When I saw them I laughed so much, I nearly bought a Round

4watts into 12volts is a third of an amp, and that's in ideal conditions, ie the Sun at its meridian, and zero loss in the connections.

In reality, I'm sure that it's a placebo.

(The lads in work said(after I pointed out that the Motorhomes in question had Ignition Switched cigarette lighters) 'what if we leave the ignition on then'?. I despair!!!!!)

If youre gonna use a solar panel, surely it needs to be 15-20 watts to actually do anything- bearing in mind (in the Northern Hemisphere) the vehicle ideally needs to be pointing South if its on top of the dashboard. The rated output of these things is only going to be achieved in a Laboratory.
