Pretty much, you need to re-route all the CQ fuel filter and fuel line arrangements - easiest to use the ABY filter bracket and plumb it up to suit. You might need to move the brake line a bit too.
This I what I did on mine
I have an ABY battery box & plan on installing it soon. I have seen pictures & an article or two on how to do it. None of the information gives precise measurements as to placement. Can anyone provide a definitive "how to" for this.
Also, could someone post a picture of where the positive battery cable comes out of the frame rail & is routed to the starter. Pictures would be most appreciated.
Thanks, Chris
I just made a cardboard template of the hole I needed to cut out then took a deep breath and started cutting.
Best way to line it up is to use the ABY fuel filter bracket mounting holes
Starter cable goes though the chassis rail from the right hand footwell and pops out on the bottom of the right chassis leg.
You need to drill a hole on the inside of the car to access the chassis leg as the hole is not there on non S2/RS2 cars.
I can take a pic later if you like.
I didn't bother and did mine like this: through the Pro-con Ten grommet hole, under the rack, and down the top of the chassis leg:
Thanks for the above information. The box I have still has some of the floorpan attached. I have cut that away from the box proper & will use that for a template. Looking forward to you picture of the cable thru to the frame rail, I had thought to use the Procon10 cable hole too. ISO the fuel filter bracket.

When I did mine, I had the person I got it from, cut a large area around the box. I used a spot weld drill to detach the box itself from the surrounding area. Then I used the surrounding area as my templet. One thing you have to remember, is the back seat frame in a ABY is a little different from the regular coupe. The wire frame area, above the battery box leaves a little more room, than the regular coupe. If someone sits back there, the frame work could come in contact with the battery. I did two things. I slit the foam along the side of the wire frame, and then hammered the wire frame up into the foam. Also took a sheet of rubber and cut a piece to fit over the battery.
I used a 150 amp circuit breaker and installed it under the front lip of the seat. I use a battery tender, sometimes, and just trip the circuit breaker when I use it.
You can see here where I marked out the battery location on the seat, and then bent up the wire that was over the battery.
You can see here the cut out thin rubber sheet for over the battery.
Location of the circuit breaker.
Breaker install with out adding any new holes to the body.
I ran the cable for the battery down the side of the seat under the door sill trim, where the ProCon cable used to go and just used that grommet in the firewall for the cable to the starter.

That is my issue. Only received the battery box with a small strip around it. There was no real place to accurately reference from. As you did, I cut the metal away from the box with a spot weld cutter. This worked "OK" for fore-aft measurement but I have no side-to-side reference point. Using an ABY fuel filter bracket looks like my best option.
Thanks for the pictures & post.

I may be able to find my template. I will let you know. If I can, I will send it to you, as long as I get it back.
