I'm trying to find why my autocheck doesn't quite work.
Where does it get the distance information from?
The cluster is receiving speed information (speedo works fine and average speed is showing as calculated correctly)
Instantaneous mpg and average mpg do not work

Dave, I've read through the post - but seems to be more around the speed signal (with which I don't have an issue), but did follow the active links to the pin outs...
I can't see from the list which wire feeds the cluster from the ECU - I'll keep reading anyway...
If I can identify which wire, I might try running a temporary new wire from A to B for test... then I can trace the wire as needed...
Think I might struggle to find it though...!

Have a look at this and particularly the info regarding pin T55/31 and T55/50. 31 = fuel consumption and 50 = vehicle speed (and distance base on math):

31 is connected to T10a/5 of the J128 board computer in an AAN.

Thanks Dave..
Ok, some time spent with AAN schematic and 3B pin outs...
Its blue/black wire from pin T 32/55 for the fuel consumption on the 3B....
Mine is converted to AAN, so should be T 31/55 but via a slightly different route to the cluster...
A little more time available at the weekend I hope
For reference, same issue before/ after ECU conversion and the same with 2 different clusters...

Good luck with this one, i've just not had time to trace all the wiring for this fault. My trip computer has started working a lot more on a daily basis now, so i would say there has to be a dodgy connection somewhere. It's still annoying though so be good to get to the bottom of it.
"Recently, Audi_F4i flagged a couple of issues related to corrosion in the Connector Stn. 2 connectors:
"(My)speedometer has been acting up for the past year or so. Installed a new G22 Vehicle Speed Sensor twice and even bought another Instrument Cluster off audifans to no avail. Decided to do a continuity test with a multimeter and was not getting continuity between the top and bottom of the T6c connector, speedometer 1/6 red/brown wire (red 6 pin connector located in the right hand kick panel). Pulled them apart:"

If the speed is working ok, then the sender must be ok. The pin connectors on the panel can corrode and cause intermittent faults. Strip down the cluster, take all the screws out and take all the various boards off. Clean all the pins with a fibreglass pen, lightly spray all the pins with silicon spray (not wd 40, must be silicon) reassemble and see if that fixes the problem. Silicon spray is good for all the other connectors on the car as as well, especially on older vehicles where the rubber seal around the connector fails Damp gets in over the years and the voltage drop across the connector causes dissimilar metal / electrolytic corrosion...
Been raining all weekend - not had a chance to investigate further...
Both clusters I have tried havd been fully cleaned and checked and work fine in another car. Must be wiring issue between ECU and cluster - it didn't work with the 3B ECU prior to conversion to ABY so need to trace the wire.
Can anyone confirm how the wire connects at the cluster on a 3B? Which connector?
I tried the wiring diagrams at S2central but don't seem to open
Dave, I had a good read of the links - excellent info, but the wiring (route and plugs) seem to be different on the Euro 3B.
Once there is some better weather I can take it outside and open the doors without getting soaked...
Thanks for the help so far...

I tried to poke around the S2Central labyrinth but didn't have much luck. I tried downloading this but nothing happened:
