    S2 Sedan Battery fitting

    I'm after any information on the location, fixing and trim that's used to locate the battery in the boot of an S2 Sedan. Tradition list 8A0809353B which I think is the correct tray. It's similar to the S2/RS2 Avant one although I'm not quite sure how the battery is clamped in place.

    If anyone has or can take some pictures of the battery in an S2 Sedan I'd be really grateful. I'm also interested to know what the standard boot trim to cover the battery looks like, I can't find it anywhere in the album.

    S2 Sedan Battery fitting

    The battery is clamped in place with a strange piece of bent wire and a bolt and small clamp at the right hand side of the tray. If it's the same system as the avant..

      Thanks, I've got an Avant tray which is probably what I'll use. It's really unclear from the album which parts are actually applicable to secure the battery in the Sedan. I'd like it to look as factory as possible rather than a battery placed in my boot, I think I'll have to get inventive to make some kind of cover as S2 Avant boot trim is totally different.

      For comparison, this is the tray listed for the Sedan;

        Looks like the same clamping arrangement. The bent rod pokes into the hole in the vertical tab on the left and is clamped on the right.

          Here's a pic of the rod assembled to the tray.

            That makes sense, I think I'll save my €155.83 and use the Avant tray I already have. It would be simple enough to fab those 2 extra bits and spot weld them on. I suspect they are there to locate the trim that covers the battery, as unlike the Avant, it's just an open part of the boot where the battery sits. Finding that trim however, is likely impossible.

            Thanks for the pictures, that's a great help.

              An update to this, as I hate incomplete topics!

              So after hours of trawling through ETKA, I found a battery cover listed for the standard Audi 80 Avant with the note that it was for a second battery. I've never seen an Avant with a dual battery set up, and even if it did it would use the same trim as the S2. This was also listed only in charcoal, a colour not available for any Avant boot trim, but the only option for all the saloons. This seemed promising so I had a look on Tradition, and sure enough, looks just like what I expected. I've ordered one so I'll see how it goes.

              Part number is 8A0 915 411 A, also listed for the Avant only on Tradition

              Edit to add this is the correct part for the factory S2 Sedan, ignore what ETKA says, this is for the Sedan only
